Originally developed in response to restrictive knife laws in England that prohibited the carry of one-hand-opening lock-blade knives, the UK Penknife was the trailblazer of Spyderco’s unique SLIPIT™ line of knives. Its full-flat-ground, leaf-shaped blade is precision machined from nitrogen-enriched LC200N steel and housed in a high-visibility yellow FRN handle. A reversible deep-pocket wire clip and fully accessible Trademark Round Hole ensure that this fearlessly corrosion-resistant cutting tool is both left and right-hand friendly.

This knife is a Spyderco Factory Second because some aspect of the knife did not meet Spyderco's stringent quality-control standards. While these imperfections may affect the product’s appearance, most are imperceptible and do not compromise its proper mechanical operation. Regardless of the specific reason a knife is declared a second, it remains safe for normal use. To clearly differentiate Factory Seconds from Firsts, these knives are all marked with a small nick on the spine of the blade near the handle on the right side (See Photos) and are not provided with a Spyderco box.
